Advertising Veteran Hock Joins ZEASN From Adobe
Singapore – 15th August 2024 – ZEASN, a leading TV OS maker, today announced the appointment of Chris Hock as VP Monetization. Hock brings extensive experience in driving growth in tech and advertising businesses and will lead the team to build out the monetization strategy and capabilities for the whaleOS TV operating system.
Hock comes to ZEASN from Adobe, where he was General Manager of the Primetime Advertising business. Prior to that Hock created one of the most widely deployed addressable TV advertising systems in the world during his tenure at BlackArrow and drove business and corporate strategy for the world’s largest unwired TV advertising network at Cadent. Before that, he led the Flash video business at Macromedia/Adobe from inception to become the leading platform for over-the-top and IP video delivery.
“We are expanding our executive team with people that bring expertise in areas that help us grow and win terrain quickly against the competition. We have an installed base of millions of TVs which is an incredible monetization opportunity through display, video, and other forms. Getting the monetization strategy and balance right is super important, as our TV OS in the first place needs to deliver a great TV experience to our users,” said Jack Gao, Chairman of ZEASN.
“When you think of the business model of TV, you can quickly conclude that monetization is a must for every TV brand. Hardware margins are extremely slim, and the TV OS provides an opportunity to drive additional margin that can be reinvested in growth. I look forward to building out the monetization capabilities of the Whale OS TV operating system and to realize our full potential,” said Chris Hock, VP Monetization at ZEASN.
To contribute to the development of the industry at large Hock has served on the Streaming Video Technology Alliance (SVTA) Board of Directors and co-chaired the Advertising Working Group. Today he is a regular contributor to industry standards bodies such as the IAB’s Digital Video Committee, CTAM and SCTE.
Hock holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Michigan State University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Michigan.
